I have been in the automotive industry for a decade. - How did you get your start?
Worked from the ground up! Starting as an entry-level general service tech to store manager. I had the opportunity to learn from the best managers and technicians around the state, an opportunity of a lifetime. - What’s your favorite auto repair to complete?
The repair that leaves the customer happy and comfortable. No one likes to go to the auto repair shop, but we strive to make it as comfortable and friendly as possible. - What’s your favorite type of vehicle to make repairs on?
The vehicle that has a strange problem that no one has been able to figure out, but we did! - What are the qualities a Sun Devil Auto technician possesses?
Being in the field for so many years, seeing multiple stores and learning from multiple people, it has shown me that Sun Devil Auto technicians are genuinely great people. Our techs are understanding, diligent and intelligent. They truly love coming into work every day, and that makes for a great working environment. - What type of training do your technicians need to complete? What’s included in this training?
My technicians are ASE-certified, EPA-certified, and are taking diagnostic training and skills classes through Snap-On. They strive to be as knowledgeable as possible and as prepared as they can be. - What’s the most commonly asked question you get about automotive repair?
The most common question I see is: Do you guys do more than just oil changes? This question is common and easily answerable. We do all mechanical repair, glass, towing, and transmissions. We are a one-stop shop and alternative to the dealership! - If you could dismiss one myth about automotive maintenance/repair, what would that be?
It would be the bias that is commonly assumed in our field. We treat every customer with the same level of customer service and make auto repair understandable and relatable to everyday life. We do not hide behind our words; all repairs can be visually inspected by the customer before replacement! - What is your favorite part of the job? Your favorite part about working for Sun Devil Auto?
My favorite part is the people. Here at the downtown location, I see all walks of life. From repeat customers to first-time oil changes, we build relationships and trust. It’s incredible to see customers return and have a genuinely good time here while we repair their car. - What’s the number one tip you would provide to car owners about maintaining their vehicle?
Keeping up with Arizona’s tough weather repairs is the biggest tip I can give. Our climate is dusty and dry with harsh summers and short winters. It’s important to keep rubber components from rotting away and fluids clean, not burnt, ensuring your car will stay on the road longer and safer!
