The Komen Race for the Cure Series raises significant funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer, celebrates breast cancer survivorship, and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease.

Metropolitan Phoenix ~ On Sunday, October 10, 2010 TEAM Sun Devil Auto will help sponsor the 18th Annual Phoenix Race for the Cure. The Komen Race for the Cure Series raises significant funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer, celebrates breast cancer survivorship, and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease.

Since 1993, the Phoenix Affiliate has granted over $11 million to breast cancer treatment, education, prevention and outreach programs in Central and Northern Arizona and to breast cancer research.

THE ROUTE

The 2010 Race route is in the Capitol District. The Race begins near Wesley Bolin Plaza and the Capitol Building, heads east to Copper Square, and then returns to Wesley Bolin Plaza for the traditional Breast Cancer Survivors’ Celebration and Awards Ceremony.

Join Sun Devil Auto and more than 30,000 in either the 1 mile Run/Walk, the 5K Run for Breast Cancer Survivor’s, the 5K Run, the 5K Walk or Sleep In for the Cure® on Race Day! Race activities include the Survivor and Co-Survivor area (Pink Hat Cafe, Survivor Goodie Bags), Corporate Village (sponsor booths) and Community Village (breast health informational booths).

8:05am: Breast Cancer Survivors 5K Run*

10:00am: Race Awards

All events are non-competitive. Finish times will be displayed on digital clocks.

The Sun Devil Auto booth will be located in the Corporate Village where folks will have a chance to spin the prize wheel. When asked about the company’s involvement, Marketing Director J. Carro stated, “We’re so delighted to be part of this worth-while event. It seems most people havebeen touched in some way by the uncertainty that a diagnosis of breast cancer can bring. It’s our pleasure and we are humbled to help raise money for research and prevention.
